Windswept (graphite)![]() ![]() Description of Numbers Perpetual Motion SeriesThis series is drawn and shaded with only the numbers 1-12, marking the hours of the clock.I use the Numberism technique to draw a moment from our lives with all four dimensions, including time, and to show how quickly they pass. We’re constantly moving in one of four directions… Even if we choose to do nothing at all, we are still moving through time. Because of this, we can never go back to where we started. Every frame, there is a new “you”, fully formed in the present moment in time, built on our past and hoping for the future, but only truly existing in this moment. It is only this moment that actually exists or ever will exist, and it’s the only point in which our actions and choices will have any effect on the world, and it will be gone as quickly as it came. These drawings are attempts to show just how fleeting these moments are, these moments that so quickly become our long kept memories, and things that despite how much we might like to, are moments we can never relive. My hope is that when we look at these drawings, we will be reminded of the importance of now and enjoy it more fully.
